I see so many people struggling lately – see being somewhat of an exaggeration – I only see people (other than my immediate family) on social media these days, and that’s a large part of the struggle.

I’ve noticed a lot of anxiety and depression. Collectively, there’s a lot of fear in the world. For some, it is fear of getting sick, or dying. For others, it is fear of scarcity, of not being able to provide for basic needs. For still others, it is fear of losing loved ones. And for far too many, it is fear of all of these things.
When fear takes over, we start operating from our lower selves. We stop thinking clearly. Many positive self care habits fall by the wayside, mostly because we forget. And so the spiral deteriorates – we feel worse and worse, and forget the things that help us feel better.
I’ve reminded more than one person lately to go back to basics. For me, those basics are grounding and shielding.
Grounding helps recharge the energy body, as well as release any excess energy (from the collective fear, as well as from the electronics we are spending more and more time interacting with).
Shielding helps to filter out the energy and emotions that are not yours. With all the collective fear, anxiety, and depression in the world, are you sure what you’re feeling is all yours? Check your shields, or put some up if you don’t have them already in place, so you can figure out just how much of those feelings are actually yours.
