Please Bother Me

I’ll be the first to admit, I’m a very busy woman. Scheduling time for my own self care can be a challenge. And it still breaks my heart when someone I care about doesn’t talk to me because they “didn’t want to bother” me.

Bother me

I’m actually pretty good about managing what access people have to me at any given time. I don’t allow Facebook or Messenger to push notifications to my phone. I have “Do Not Disturb” set up for night time so texts and phone calls won’t wake me when I am sleeping. I only check my emails and messages when I am able to respond.

I would much rather hear about what is going on with you FROM YOU, than from another friend or acquaintance. And for goodness sake, if something I said or did upset, PLEASE talk to me about it. I don’t intend harm, and sometimes I get frustrated or stressed and don’t fully consider what effect my words may have. I forget what triggers you. After all, I’m human too.

My calling is as a Priestess. That means I am a minister, a life coach, a counselor, a confidante, a mentor, a guide, and a teacher. I absolutely love my job. I love helping and supporting others to grow. And if I have welcomed you into my circle of friends or students or clients, I genuinely care about your well-being.

I will MAKE time for you. It may not be immediate, depending on what other commitments I have, and I will find time for a coffee date, or a meal, or even a phone call.

This clip from Babylon 5, one of my favorite TV shows, sums it up pretty well:

Please bother me. I like the company.

Blessings,
Mary
