This past weekend we celebrated Yule with my Circle. We had a glorious feast, made pomanders and wands, and had a gift exchange. We celebrated late into the night, and I had a fabulous time.
The Circle members did all of the planning and preparation themselves. They conspired to keep all of the workload off my shoulders. It was weird, and also a bit of a relief. We have a very good group, and I trust them to not get out of control.
Not only did they do all the work, they surprised me and my family with a care package. I was so touched and grateful. It was extremely thoughtful of them all, and it brought me to tears.
It made me think of a few other times when friends and coworkers have acknowledged my efforts. Some were quiet and private, and others were public, like this one.
I don’t do what I do for the reward, at least not a material prize. I’ve been called to serve in my community, whether through my spirituality or my Union. I serve because I love to see my brothers and sisters successful and happy. I love to help and contribute.
I’ve been very blessed with communities of strong, powerful, caring and generous people. I’m grateful, so very, very grateful. My heart overflows with love and gratitude, and I am humbled by the love I’ve been shown.
Blessings,
Mary
