Time to level up?

The world is a crazy place. And chaotic. It’s a crazy, chaotic place, and lately, it seems to be worse than ever.

level upPolitics, especially in the United States, are out of control. I’m not even going to go into that craziness.

Mother Nature is busy working on a wake up call, with record wild fires, hurricanes and earthquakes.

We’ve just come through the energy of a complete solar eclipse and Mercury Retrograde, both of which are fairly common events, and yet they have an energetic impact on us.

And I, for one, have been feeling the effects.

I’ve been experiencing some nausea, and weird digestion. That pales compared to the headaches, though. I wake up at 2 or 3 am in pain that I cannot find release from. Painkillers don’t touch it. I have a few stretches that help, however, then I’m awake, which leads to sleep deprivation, which leads to more pain…

And I’ve had a lot of injuries. Kind of like when I was growing, and I was awkward because I wasn’t used to the new dimensions of my body.

I’ve been feeling more anxiety lately. When I first felt anxiety, it was due to a toxic relationship at work. When that resolved, the anxiety went away. And now it’s back. Fairly mild, but still there.

I feel like I’m falling behind, and I can’t catch up. Actually, it feels like I’m playing a video game, and I’m fighting the boss. I’m not sure I’m up to this challenge. And I’ve got to keep at it because I don’t want to have to start over.

I want to level up. I want the world to level up. I want us to have learned from past mistakes, and be better and stronger than the negative in the world. And I want to feel less pain.

So I will keep working on raising my vibration. Because the more I hold my vibration high, the more others can do the same.

Boiling Frogs and Leveling Up

There’s been a lot of chaos and upheaval lately, and not just in my life – I’m hearing it from friends and clients as well.

We’re being challenged in lots of ways. Are you serious about raising your vibration? What’s really important? What is your passion? Your purpose?

Dissatisfaction abounds. When I was thinking about it during my meditation this morning, the parable about boiling a frog came to me.

If you drop a (live) frog into boiling water, it will react to the temperature difference and jump out. However, if you put it in lukewarm water, and gradually turn up the heat, you can boil the frog. (Whoever thought of this experiment?)

I feel like the heat is being turned up. Some people are sensitive to the heat (the challenges, the pressure) in different ways. Some people can see the chaos for what it is, and are looking for ways to change or adapt.

Other people are sensitive to the heat, but they don’t understand it, or won’t acknowledge it. They start making more and more irrational choices, trying to make things go back the way they were, and not realizing that they are heading in a counter-productive direction.

And still other people aren’t aware of the changes at all. They continue on with their day-to-day life unaware of the shift.

So when do we arrive? When is this chaos going to be done? I wish I knew! It will be done when we evolve. And then we will have other, different challenges to face. Like when you are playing a video game and you get to the boss at the end of the level – it gets really difficult, and when you overcome it, you level up. Things aren’t necessarily easier on the next level, though you’ll be better prepared for it by overcoming the boss.

Well, that’s a lot of metaphors for one blog post. The water’s getting hot, and I sure hope this is the last boss before leveling up.

I don’t really have a whole lot of words of wisdom for you. Be aware. Take care of yourself – meditate, journal, stay out (or get out) of toxic environments. Stand in your truth. Speak your truth. Set boundaries and stick to them.

Yes, yes. Easier said than done. But so is fighting the boss, or boiling the frog.
