It’s been a while…

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. How have you been?

Me? I’ve been busy – probably TOO busy – though that’s not unusual for me.

Market timeI’ve been tired. And I’ve felt like I have nothing to write about. Nothing of interest, though there’s been plenty happening. It’s not even that there’s been nothing to write about. I just haven’t been inspired to write. Writing has felt like more of a chore than usual.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been journalling. Do I have a weekly word limit? It doesn’t matter.

Here’s a quick summary of the past few weeks:

  • I traveled to Schenectady, NY, for a conference for work. I got to see some live theater, meet some amazing people, spend time with a friend I rarely get to see, and learn more about the software program I use all the time at work.
  • Markets! It’s May, so the Pier Street Market is back on Sundays. I’ve been doing a lot of tarot reading lately – from a spirit and wellness fair, to the Market, to a bachelorette party, to a fundraiser for Pagan Pride Day. I’ve been working at consciously connecting with my guides more in my readings. It’s definitely a work in progress, and more effective some times than others.
  • My eldest child is graduating high school, and my family is coming out for a visit. I’m very excited for that!
  • We had an estate sale for a friend who passed last fall. My husband has been the one who was really coordinating that.
  • And then there’s the usual stuff – work, family, teaching, ritual…

With all of that, the blog has fallen lower on my priority list. I could say I would try to be better about writing regularly, and that wouldn’t be entirely honest. So I’ll just say that I will catch it as I can, and as I feel inspired.

Blessings,

Mary

I’m Back!

Did you miss me? I’ve been a very busy girl – yesterday was my first real day off in weeks. Now it’s time to get back in the regular routine of blogging and work and overworking myself. Well, I’m working on NOT doing that last one.

Blessings,

Mary

I Think I Need a Break. A Little Break? Okay. Whew!

I’ve been sitting at my computer for the last three days – writing blog posts, writing a course I’m working on, editing videos, waiting for videos to process or upload, and getting in the conversation on Facebook. Today I needed a break.

I decided to head to the beach. But first, I grabbed my phone, my headphones, and a book. I walked through the sunshine, enjoying the warm air on my skin. There was very little traffic as I crossed the highway, and I had the beach to myself. The tide was on its way in, so there was only a little sand. Ahhh, peace!

Working at the BeachI dropped my bag, and picked up my phone. And started to record another video. While at the beach, I recorded three more videos for my 30/60 challenge.

Here I was, at the beach on a beautiful, sunny afternoon, with just enough breeze to keep the temperature comfortable, and I was recording more videos! Actually, it was kind of cool that I was working at the beach. (I did take some personal time while I was at the beach, too. I read, and enjoyed the water washing over my feet.) This blogging and video challenge has really gotten to me. I think about it all the time.

“Would this make a better blog post or a video?”

“How can I record this the way I want?”

“Oh, I should write about that!”

It’s a little crazy, actually.

Part of it is because I am very conscious of the time freedom I have right now, and that I won’t have the same time freedom in a few short weeks. So I am making the most of my time while I can.

Part of it is just to get it done. I made a commitment to do 30 blog posts and 30 videos in 60 days. Keeping commitments is something I value – a lot. So I need to make sure I keep my word – to my mentor, to myself, and to the Universe.

And part of it is because it is kind of fun! I am enjoying exploring different ways of sharing my life experiences, lessons and beliefs with you. Even more, I enjoy hearing back from you – how my message affects you, or how you relate to what I share. It is a way of discovering how we are all connected.

I can’t say yet whether I will continue blogging or videoing as frequently once this challenge is over. I can say though that this challenge will definitely have an impact on how I blog and video in the future! And I hope you will continue the journey with me.

If you’ve missed any of the videos, you can find them all on my YouTube channel here. Please go and subscribe if you haven’t already!

Blessings,

Mary
