Before we get to my post for today, a reminder about the Pin it to Win it Contest – we still need a few more entries to draw a winner!
It’s hard to believe it’s been about a year since I made the decision to continue my studies at the Woolston-Steen Theological Seminary. It was a tough decision for me – something I really wanted to do, and knew it would further my own growth, and yet I knew it was going to be a big time commitment.
Looking back from the (almost) end of the year of studies, I am very happy with my choice. I have learned so much about myself and about being a priestess.
It hasn’t been easy, though. It’s been tough keeping up with all the assignments. In fact, I still have a few more to submit before I am officially complete. And there have definitely been some days that I don’t want to do the work at all.
That said, I’ve really enjoyed the year. I’ve been aware of the turning of the Wheel of the Year for a long time now, and this class added a lot more layers to that awareness. I am so much more aware of the energy of the seasons, and how that relates to my chakras, my astrological chart, and several other things. I don’t want to spoil it all for you!
A lot of the work I’ve done this year I probably could have done on my own. And I know it would have taken me many, many, MANY years to learn what I have in this one year. Partly because on my own I would have meandered and allowed myself to get distracted, and partly because I get more done when I have a deadline. If I have all the time in the world to get something done, chances are it won’t get done. Because there is still plenty of time, right?
When there’s a deadline, though, stuff gets done. It may not get done until the last minute, but it gets done!
Where do you want to grow next year? What do you want to learn? And what tools will support you in your growth and learning? After all, if you’re not growing, you’re dying.
Make a commitment and see it through to completion. You’ll feel great when you cross the finish line!
Blessings,
Mary
