It’s So Good to be Home!

After being on the road for the better part of three weeks, I am finally home. And it is so wonderful!

I had a good time in my travels – first, camping and meeting new friends, then off to Minnesota to see my family and attend the 50th Anniversary reunion of the Straw Hat Players, the summer theater program at the University I attended.

My trip to MinnesotaWe got to be tourists in Minneapolis-St. Paul, riding the rides at ValleyFair, touring the Minnesota History Museum, and the Maya Exhibit at the Science Museum, all great experiences for me and my boys. I had the opportunity to reconnect with friends I haven’t seen since high school and University. I enjoyed visiting with relatives I haven’t seen in many years. And I enjoyed hanging out with my nephews.

I am extremely grateful to everyone who helped make this trip possible for us – Russ and Gina, my sister and her family, and especially my parents. I wish we could have spent more time together (my mom had to work while we were there).

Two weeks was about the limit, though. The boys were eager to get home and get back to familiar territory and routines, and only have one set of adults telling them what to do. 🙂 I was also glad to sleep in my own bed, with my own pillow, and only have my own agenda to organize.

It will be nice to get back to coaching, both individuals and the Elements of Abundance group coaching, in my own environment. And also get back to blogging regularly. Being in a different time zone threw me off a bit.

And homecoming has inspired me to do some work around the house and yard – mowing and trimming the lawn, pulling some (only some) of the weeds from the front garden beds, and cleaning up the kitchen and bathroom. That last bit was partly inspired by a visit from my mother-in-law, but it was going to happen anyway. I also have plans to clear out some of the clutter on my desk and in my bedroom. So that is a bonus of going away, too.

Have you had a vacation recently? How has your vacation refreshed you or benefited you? I look forward to hearing from you!

Blessings,

Mary
